Split Pea Soup

How many servings do you want to make?

Ingredients needed:
cup(s) of Split Peas
cup(s) of chopped Onion
Bay Leaves
cup(s) of frozen Carrots
cup(s) of chopped Celery

*Exact calculated values are displayed above. For practical purposes these numbers can be rounded off for the easiest measurement.

Directions:

In a large soup pot, boil split peas for about an hour. Cover peas with water. Add more water as neccessary.

In a sauce pan boil cup(s) water, onions, celery, carrots, and bay leaves.

Add vegetable mixture to the peas (do not drain, leave water in vegetable mixture).

Season to taste with:
Salt
Pepper
Parsley
Garlic Powder
Oregano
Chili Powder
Thyme
Celery Salt

Caution: Bay leaves pose a potential choke hazard! Remove them before serving.

(Note: To avoid soup sticking and burning at bottom of the pot, use a double boiler. Place soup pot into a slightly larger pot. Add water into the larger pot until the level of water surrounds the soup pot.)
