Ingredients needed: lbs of Ground Beef cup(s) of chopped Onion cup(s) chopped Celery Potatoes cup(s) of frozen Carrots oz of diced tomatoes oz of mushrooms cup(s) frozen Peas cup(s) of frozen Corn cup(s) water oz tomato sauce Bay Leaves *Exact calculated values are displayed above. For practical purposes these numbers can be rounded off for the easiest measurement.
Directions:
Cube potatoes, leaving skins on.
In frying pan or large sauce pan, brown ground beef, chopped onion, and chopped celery. Drain grease.
Combine browned beef, potatoes, carrots, diced tomatoes, mushrooms, peas, corn, water, tomato sauce, and bay leaves in a large soup pot.
To thicken stew, combine cup(s) cornstarch and cup(s) warm water, stir and add to pot.
Season to taste with: Salt Pepper Oregano Parsley Basil Garlic Powder
Caution: Bay leaves pose a potential choke hazard! Remove them before serving.
(Note: To avoid soup sticking and burning at bottom of the pot, use a double boiler. Place soup pot into a slightly larger pot. Add water into the larger pot until the level of water surrounds the soup pot.)
